Where can I install my Anti-slip treads & nosing?

Anti-slip treads & nosing can be used across many different surface types including, metal grills, concrete, masonry, wood and chequer plate. This makes treads & nosing perfect for any environment that has high traffic and requires improved safety. This product is specifically designed to be used on ramps, stairs, walkways and external fire escapes.

Can this product be used outdoors?

The Anti-slip treads and nosings are designed specifically for extreme outdoor usage. To ensure this, the product is created to meet a range of requirements. Requirements include; Class 2 fire resistant to BS476 Part 7, Approved food quality top coat for food contact U.V, Graffiti, mould and fungus resistant. This product can also be used indoors if required, however please be aware of the surface recommendations, as indoor materials, such as carpet are not recommended for installation.

Are Anti-slip treads and stair nosings mandatory?

Yes, according to AS1428.1, Australian Standard Design for Access and Mobility Part 1, stair treads and nosings are required in all new and refurbished public buildings. This standard sets out minimum requirements regarding layout and application, as well as a general basis for providing greater access for people with disabilities. How do I install this product?

This product comes pre-drilled and countersunk for easy installation. It is important to first identify the type of surface that the treads and nosing will be applied to. Please see installation methods below:

Steel and/or chequer plates -M6 countersunk self-drilling Tek screws or M6 screw washer and Nyloc nut assemblies are recommended

Metal grills -Galvanised or stainless steel universal saddle clamps with M6 stainless countersunk socket screws and Nyloc locking nuts are recommended

Masonry -M6 stainless countersunk concrete anchors or M6 countersunk self-securing concrete anchors are recommended

Wood -12 gauge self-tapping countersunk wood screws are recommended
